It was a great (but HOT) day at Croy Creek! So many great deals (and cheap!) Walked away with a brass chandelier in perfect condition for $20.. and then BAM this beauty was bound to come with me, even when I knew I didn't have a place for it.. it was far too good a deal to pass up! I love it! Not so much the color but I can change that!!

Why not use a dresser/hutch in the kitchen :)
Taking a classic MCM dresser with this brown boring stain and transforming it into something eye-catching, bold and unique was definitely fun for me! So much fun I wanted to keep the piece for myself.. lol. BUT I knew what was impossible ;( .. so I delivered it to be with one happy customer. She was using it as her cake baking storage which turned out perfectly! She told me only one time what she "thought" she wanted and couldn't really describe it..but I knew what she was talking about without even saying it. This is how this beautiful piece turned out, and I just LOVE the fork handles!! my fave!!

from the 70's to a modern kitchy look
So a co-worker of mine, who was moving into a place of her own and getting a divorce, came across an old dresser set from her parents that had been in the basement hidden for 16 years. They were good quality and well made Lane furniture but had that awful brown 70's stain as did most of the furniture from back in the day (although it doesn't always look horrible). The pieces had these cut-out stars in them doors of the two pieces and outdated handles. She had asked if I thought I could revive them and give them new life and honestly, I hesitated but thought "nah, anything I do is and will be an improvement".. so with that being said, after she decided what her color scheme would be in her new home (she was so excited to finally be decorating) we talked about how we wanted it to look. She bought a bed set and I took the pillow case and decided to use that as my inspiration. Making a long story short.. and unfortunately without a 'before' picture (but you can use your imagination and picture it in an ugly brown stain) I was able to accomplish a renovated revived dresser that brought her to tears! After that reaction, all was right with the world... and I remembered why I loved doing this job for people.. take a peek! it turned out really chic and kitchy!

Shabby Glam and Bling
Thought I'd do something a little sparkly today. Found this frame at a flea market for $0.50 so I painted with #MMSMP
Eulalie's Sky and gathered whatever spare sparkley items I had to use
to bling this frame out. It's very shabby glam girl. I love it. It is
for sale, $20. Inbox me if you are interested. Would make a great gift
for a teenagers room.

Upcycled Bohemian Cuff Bracelet
This cuff bracelet is fashioned after the Bohemian style, which I am fanatical about! I used some scrap fabric from a jacket I had (actually a strap that was on the back of the jacket) and some vintage lace and a vintage brooch... turned out pretty good. Has snap enclosure! If you want to purchase it, email me at chippievintagejunkie@gmail.com and I will send it out to you! Cost is $25.00 plus S/H. Be on the lookout for more items in the future! (more upcycled cuff bracelets and clothes!)
There is something about WHITE - I love all tones/shades of white
I used to find white intimidating when it came to decor. But now I am in love with it.
From all the different shades of white (aged, patinad, vintage, chipped, antiqued, etc), you name it
and a whole room of it takes my breath away. Now I'm sure most of you disagree but I'm going to show you some whites that I couldn't stay away from. I'm working very hard on incorporating the different shades of white into my living room and haven't quite completed it yet but it's a never ending task that I love.
This is my wonderful chippie cabinet I searched high and low for. Once I found it, I snatched it up and it was for what I consider at steal! I didn't have to do a thing to it
And, while waiting to load the cabinet into the truck, we happened upon this lovely white chippie trestle table with pull out leaves... fANTASTIC!! the top is a little dirty and maybe a tad too chippie so I plan to just paint over that with MMSMP in ironstone...gives a little cleaner look

Cozy Bedrooms
We all dream of having the perfect, cozy bedroom to just settle down in and watch the world melt away. You know the one [wink wink] .. but sometimes we just get ..."stuck" and never absolutely finish that perfect bedroom. Are we trying too hard? Are we getting too many ideas jumbled in our head? Well here are a few bedrooms that just want to make you melt and smile. If it's the soothing colors, soft fabrics, delicate bedding, it all fits..it all symbolizes the word COZY. They are the perfect way to end your chaotic day.. or your not so chaotic day :) it just feels like home...
